The Two-Zonification of KRG Salaries?

Of the 1.2 million salary recipients in the Kurdistan Region, about 700,000 (60%) have enrolled in the ‘MyAccount’ salary digitalization system, according to KRG sources cited by Bwar News.
A stark divide exists between the two political zones: in the KDP-controlled provinces of Erbil and Duhok, registration rates have reached 96%, while in the PUK-administered provinces of Sulaimani and Halabja, participation remains at just 35%.
Among civil servants specifically, 320,000 out of 429,000 have registered for MyAccount. Of these, roughly 200,000 have fully transitioned to receiving their salaries through bank ATMs under the new system.
Since the elections on October 20, the PUK has openly opposed the MyAccount service. Reports indicate that registration for the system in Sulaimani has largely stalled, raising questions about its future implementation in the province. This comes amidst broader modernization efforts that require all Iraqi public sector employees to digitalize their salary payments. You can read more on the dispute over MyAccount here.
