Between 1 and 7 March 2026, there were 8 confirmed attack events against Iranian Kurdish opposition groups in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, amounting to at least 14 site-hits when multi-target strikes are broken down by location. The parties clearly targeted were KDPI, PAK, Khabat, and Komala. No equally solid public evidence was found for a direct PJAK site being hit in this same period.

KDPI was hit the most repeatedly. Its main targets were Azadi Camp in Koya, Zwi Spi, and the old training and ammunition area between Azadi and Zwi Spi. Azadi was struck multiple times and appears to have been the most repeatedly targeted site overall.

PAK was targeted at positions in Khabat district, in Gomaspan, in Pirde/Altun Kupri, and at its base in Degala. The Degala strike was the deadliest documented attack of the period and caused the clearest confirmed fatality.

Khabat group ‘\was targeted at its site in the Topzawa/Rizgari area of Erbil province. The strike caused light injuries, but reporting differed on whether the attack was by drone or rocket and whether one or two people were wounded.

Komala was targeted at Zargwez/Zargwezala and Surdash. The clearest faction-level identification is for Zargwezala, which points to Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan. Surdash was definitely a Komala-linked target, but the exact faction is less clear in the public record, with some reporting referring more generically to Komala or the Komala Party.

Chronologically, the attacks began with a multi-site wave on 1 March targeting PAK, KDPI/PDKI, and Komala sites. On 3 March, Azadi Camp in Koya was hit again and one person was injured. On 4 March, PAK’s Degala base was struck in the deadliest attack, and Komala’s Surdash site was also hit. On 5 March, the KDPI/PDKI area between Azadi and Zwi Spi was struck again, Khabat’s Topzawa/Rizgari site was hit, and a Komala-linked site in Surdash was attacked again. On 7 March, Iran announced a new strike on three opposition positions, but the exact three sites were not publicly named.

In dataset form, the core locations are: Azadi Camp, Zwi Spi, the old Azadi-Zwi Spi training and depot area, Degala/Dekala, Pirde/Altun Kupri, Gomaspan, positions between Erbil and Duhok, Zargwez/Zargwezala, Surdash, and Topzawa/Rizgari.

The cleanest bottom line is: 8 confirmed attack events, at least 14 site-hits, 4 clearly targeted parties, with KDPI/PDKI hit most often, PAK suffering the deadliest strike, Khabat hit once clearly, and Komala hit at Zargwezala and Surdash, with only Zargwezala cleanly tied to a specific Komala faction in the public record.
