The highest value of imports to Iraq came from the UAE, amounting to approximately $31.197 billion, which represents 48% of the total imports from the aforementioned countries.

The most valuable commodity imported to Iraq was gold and precious metals, exceeding $12 billion in value, with nearly $11 billion (91.5% of the gold) imported from the UAE.

Among these trading partners, India was Iraq’s largest exporter of grains and meat, ranking first in these categories. Further details are presented below.

First: Volume of Iraqi imports from the UAE in 2024 The UAE exported the largest quantity of goods and commodities to Iraq, valued at over $31.196 billion, constituting 48% of Iraq’s imports from the group of countries including China, Turkey, the United States, Brazil, and India.

The primary import from the UAE to Iraq was gold and precious metals, valued at approximately $10.398 billion, representing over 35% of total UAE imports. Following this were electronic devices valued at more than $6.397 billion (20.5% of UAE imports), and automobiles worth over $5.139 billion (16.5%).

Second: Volume of Iraqi imports from China in 2024 After the UAE, China was Iraq’s largest source of imports, accounting for 24% of Iraq’s imports from the group including the UAE, Turkey, the United States, Brazil, and India. According to official Chinese Customs Authority data, China’s exports to Iraq in 2024 reached approximately $16 billion.

The primary import from China to Iraq was mechanical equipment, valued at over $3.176 billion, representing approximately 20% of total Chinese imports. This was followed by electronic devices valued at $2.234 billion (14% of Chinese imports).

Third: Volume of Iraqi imports from Turkey in 2024 In 2024, following the UAE and China, Turkey was Iraq’s third-largest source of imports, constituting 17% of Iraq’s imports from the group including the UAE, China, the United States, Brazil, and India. Turkey’s exports to Iraq in 2024 exceeded $11.249 billion.

The primary import from Turkey to Iraq was gold and precious metals, valued at over $1.007 billion, representing 9% of total Turkish imports. This was followed by mechanical equipment valued at approximately $620 million (5.5% of Turkish imports), and household items valued at more than $608 million (5.4% of Turkish imports).

Fourth: Volume of Iraqi imports from India in 2024 In 2024, following the UAE, China, and Turkey, India was Iraq’s fourth-largest source of imports, constituting 5% of Iraq’s imports from the group including the UAE, China, Turkey, the United States, and Brazil. India’s exports to Iraq in 2024 exceeded $3.313 billion.

The primary import from India to Iraq was grains, valued at over $935 million, representing 28% of total Indian imports. This was followed by mineral fuels valued at over $467 million (14% of Indian imports), and meat valued at $377 million (11.4% of Indian imports).

Fifth: Volume of Iraqi imports from Brazil in 2024 In 2024, following the UAE, China, Turkey, and India, Brazil was Iraq’s fifth-largest source of imports, constituting 3% of Iraq’s imports from the group including the UAE, China, Turkey, India, and the United States. Brazil’s exports to Iraq in 2024 exceeded $1.886 billion.

The primary import from Brazil to Iraq was sugar and confectionery products, valued at over $669 million, representing 35.5% of total Brazilian imports. This was followed by meat valued at approximately $432 million (nearly 23% of Brazilian imports), and iron valued at approximately $83 million (4.4% of Brazilian imports). Sixth: Volume of Iraqi imports from the United States in 2024 In 2024, following the UAE, China, Turkey, India, and Brazil, the United States was Iraq’s sixth-largest source of imports, constituting 3% of Iraq’s imports from the group including the UAE, China, Turkey, India, and Brazil. The United States’ exports to Iraq in 2024 exceeded $1.660 billion.

The primary import from the United States to Iraq was automobiles, valued at over $513 million, representing nearly 31% of total U.S. imports. This was followed by mechanical equipment valued at over $271 million (over 16% of U.S. imports), and electronic equipment valued at over $128 million (7.7% of U.S. imports).
