Data Shows 14 Turkish Attacks, 2 PKK Responses Since Ocalan’s Peace Appeal and PKK’s Unilateral Ceasefire

According to the Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), an organization that closely monitors the ongoing conflict between Turkey and the PKK in the Kurdistan Region, Turkey has conducted 14 attacks against PKK positions since February 27, when Abdullah Öcalan issued a message calling for peace and PKK disarmament. PKK guerrillas engaged or responded to two of these attacks.
CPT’s detailed data released yesterday indicates that nine of these attacks occurred in Duhok province, three in Sulaimani province, and two in Erbil province.
